BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 15. The number of tourists from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan amounted to 11,188 people for 2022, Trend reports via the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to the information, in comparison with the pre-Covid 19 pandemic period, there is a significant decrease in tourists from Turkmenistan. Thus, the number of visitors from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan in 2019 amounted to 52,092 people.
Furthermore, a total of 8,256 tourists arrived in Azerbaijan from Turkmenistan in 2020, and only 2,738 tourists in 2021.
Meanwhile, 297 tourists from Turkmenistan visited Azerbaijan in January 2022, 285 tourists in February, 1,735 tourists in the spring months, 2,699 tourists arrived in the summer months, and 4,489 tourists in the autumn. Azerbaijan was visited by 1,683 Turkmen tourists in December last year.
Turkmenistan ranks 3rd in Central Asia in terms of the number of tourists visiting Azerbaijan in 2022 after Kazakhstan (30,350 tourists) and Uzbekistan (26,309).
