BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 3. Entrepreneurs from Afghanistan purchased technical sulfur from Turkmen production during trading on March 27 at the State Commodity and Raw Material Exchange of Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to the exchange.

Businessmen from Afghanistan purchased 25,000 tons of granular technical sulfur on the exchange at a price of $39 per ton. The total amount of the transaction was $975,000.

At the same time, according to the exchange, on the same day, entrepreneurs from Afghanistan purchased 1,800 tons of liquefied gas in the amount of $558,000.

Technical sulfur is used for the production of sulfuric acid, carbon disulfide, and dyes, in pulp and paper, textile, and other industries and is used for export in the process of vulcanization of rubber.

The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important body of state regulation of export-import operations.
