BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 11. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) expects Turkmenistan's current account balance to reach 4.6 percent of GDP in 2023, Trend reports with reference to IMF’s World Economic Outlook.
According to the report, the forecast for the current year has been downgraded from the previous outlook of October 2022 (2.5 percent of the GDP).
The IMF estimates the country's current account balance at 2.8 percent in 2024 and -1.5 percent in 2028 (-1.6 percent of GDP in 2027, according to the forecast for October 2022).
Turkmenistan’s current account balance in 2022 is estimated at 5.7 percent (6.5 percent in 2021, according to IMF outlook).
