Turkmenistan plans to increase gas supplies to China in the next few years, State Minister of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Turkmengas State Concern Batyr Amanov said at the International Investment Forum (OGT 2023) in Dubai (UAE), Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
He recalled that currently, the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline includes three parallel lines, the length of each of which is 1830 km, and also added that their capacity is 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
According to Amanov, the Galkynysh field, which is at the stage of pilot operation, should become the resource base for expanding gas supplies to China, and its reserves together with adjacent fields, are estimated at 27.4 trillion cubic meters. meters.
Furthermore, according to the agreements reached, the supply of Turkmen gas to China should grow to 65 billion cubic meters of gas per year after the commissioning of the fourth line of the gas pipeline, which will be laid from the border of Turkmenistan to China through the territory of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan, the chairman of the state concern noted.
