ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 9. Turkmenistan imported plastic and rubber products worth 2.8 million euros from the Netherlands from January through May 2023, a source at Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, told Trend.
These figures for the reporting period are 6.8 percent higher than in the first five months of last year (2.62 million euros).
According to the statistical office, in May 2023, Turkmenistan imported plastic and rubber products from the Netherlands in the amount of 708,140 euros, which is 2.1 times more than in April 2023 (331,940 euros).
Furthermore, Turkmenistan reduced its imports from the Netherlands by 7.2 percent in the first five months of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022 (24.53 million euros), resulting in imports of 22.75 million euros.
Meanwhile, during the first five months of 2023, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and EU countries exceeded 494.66 million euros, marking a 27.3 percent increase compared to the corresponding period in the previous year, when it stood at 406.3 million euros.
