ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, January 11. Turkmenistan's 'Hemsaýa' economic society plans to put into operation another greenhouse with an area of 10 hectares for banana cultivation in the Kaakhka district of the Ahal region this year, Trend reports.

Currently, the company has a greenhouse with an area of 5 hectares in this area where Cavendish bananas are grown, and more than 40 specialists work.

The modern greenhouse is equipped with advanced equipment from Türkiye, Germany, and Spain, which has an automated temperature and humidity control system.

Furthermore, the greenhouse also uses water-saving irrigation methods for growing crops.

Meanwhile, in Turkmenistan, another Ferhar economic society is also widely engaged in banana production in the Sakarchag district of the Mary region.

As part of the rapid development of the agricultural sector in Turkmenistan, import substitution is actively carried out in the production of bananas and other foreign agricultural products.

Public investments are aimed at the creation of modern greenhouse complexes and the introduction of advanced agricultural technologies, which allow the country to become more independent in meeting the needs of this important segment of agriculture.
