ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 11. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has published forecasts of Turkmenistan's GDP growth rate for 2024 and 2025, as well as previous data for 2022 and 2023, Trend reports.
According to the prediction, Turkmenistan's GDP growth rate in
2024 will be 6.5 percent, higher than the bank's prior report of 6
percent.
At the same time, Turkmenistan's GDP growth rate is predicted to
fall to 6 percent by 2025, indicating a shift in economic dynamics,
probably influenced by a variety of variables.
"Growth rose slightly in 2023 led by gas exports and public investment. A positive outlook for energy and continued public investment indicate accelerating growth in 2024 before it moderates somewhat in 2025," the bank notes.
Furthermore, ADB shows that Turkmenistan's GDP growth rates in 2022 and 2023 amounted to 6.2 percent and 6.3 percent, respectively, which also reflects growth.
Meanwhile, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov recently noted that the GDP growth rate of Turkmenistan from January through March 2024 remained stable at 6.3 percent.
The President added that during the specified period, the growth rate of Turkmenistan's industrial sector reached 4.7 percent, in the transport and communications sector - 6.6 percent, in the service sector - 7.6 percent, in trade - 8.2 percent, and in agriculture - 4.1 percent.
