The Executive Committee of FIFA has made decision about holding World Cup 2012 among female youth teams (until 20 years) not in Uzbekistan as it was planned before, but in Japan, a statement on the organization's website reported.
Initially tournament was taken place in Vietnam. However, FIFA decided that Vietnam is not ready to hold such a large sport forum and decided to change the competition venue.
Uzbekistan and New Zealand fought for the right to hold World Cup, and Uzbekistan was entrusted to host the tournament.
Following the talks which were held in Tokyo last week, the FIFA Executive Committee decided to hold World Cup in Japan referring "technical causes".
The organization expressed its sincere appreciation to the Football Federation of Uzbekistan for significant efforts to arrange the World Cup in the country.
At the same time FIFA promised to hold another competition in Uzbekistan under its auspices, possibly among men when such an opportunity would occur.
The official announcement about new host country of World Cup 2012 will be made after getting guarantee from Japanese government, the statement said.
