Depository for int’l treaties created in Uzbekistan

The foreign ministry of Uzbekistan has completed work on creation of modern storage depository of international treaties of Uzbekistan, said the message posted on the website of the ministry.
The room was equipped with the latest technology for optimal climate for the long-term and careful storage of documents, and particular attention was paid to fire safety, according to the message.
"The selected technology of storage allows to gain fast access to any document out of nearly 4 million documents handed over to the foreign ministry for storage in accordance with the law on international treaties of Uzbekistan," the message said. "The work was executed with the technical assistance of the UNDP."
The national legislation database in terms of the country's international treaties is being improved in cooperation with the ministry of justice, the ministry said. To date, the website contains some 1,200 international treaties of Uzbekistan adopted in 1991-2015, according to the foreign ministry.
