Founder of the Akfa group of companies Dzhakhongir Artykkhodzhaev became the new head of the administration of the city of Tashkent, Uzbek media reported citing the press service of the Tashkent administration.

An extraordinary 35th session of the parliament was held under the leadership of the prime minister of Uzbekistan. The members of the parliament voted unanimously for the candidacy of Artykkhodzhaev.

Artykkhodzhaev is the head of the Artel and Imzo companies. Previously, he served as director of the Tashkent City state unitary enterprise. He was born on Jan. 2, 1975 in the Tashkent. He graduated from Tashkent Economic University with a degree in economics in 1996. In 2015, he was awarded the "Dustlik" Order.

Dzhakhongir Artykhodzhayev replaced Rahmonbek Usmanov, who headed the administration of Tashkent since 2011.
