The largest shares of the industrial sector in structure of gross regional product (GRP) in 2020 accounted for Navoi (71.2 percent) and Tashkent (48.4 percent) regions, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
According to the State Statistics Committee, outstripping GRP growth rates in 2020 were noted in Navoi (7.1 percent) and Namangan (4.8 percent) regions, while low GRP growth rates were observed in Syrdarya region (0.1 percent) and Tashkent city (1.5 percent) in comparison with the republican level (1.6 percent).
It is reported that Tashkent made the largest contribution to the formation of Uzbekistan’s GDP (gross domestic product) with a specific weight of 15.3 percent. At the same time, Tashkent and Navoi regions hold the next places with indicators of 10.8 percent and 8.4 percent, respectively.
At the end of 2020, the share of small entrepreneurship (business) in Uzbekistan’s GDP amounted to 53.9 percent. In the context of regions, its largest share was observed in Jizzakh (82.7 percent of the total gross added value created in the region), Surkhandarya (77.1 percent) and Khorezm (75.3 percent) regions.
Thus, the GRP of the Navoi region reached 49 billion soums ($4.7 million), increasing by 7.1. The growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries reached 3.1 percent, industry - 9.4 percent, construction - 5.3 percent and the service sector - 1.4 percent. It was noted that GRP per capita increased by 5.3 percent and amounted to 48,747 soums ($4.64).
As for Namangan region, its GRP amounted to 26.6 billion soums ($2.5 million), which is 4.8 percent higher compared to 2019. The growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries reached 3.7 percent, industry - 15.8 percent, construction - 13.6 percent and the service sector - 0.4 percent. GRP per capita increased by 2.7 percent and amounted to 9,380 soums ($0.89).
GRP of the Tashkent region amounted to 62.7 billion soums ($6 million) with an increase of 2.6 percent. The growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries reached two percent, industry - 3.8 percent, construction - 5.2 percent, service sector 0.1 percent. Compared to 2019, GRP per capita in real terms increased by 0.9 percent and amounted to 21,113 soums ($2.01).
In addition, the GRP of Tashkent city of amounted to 88.6 billion soums ($88.4 million) and, compared to 2019, it increased by 1.5 percent. GRP growth factors: growth rates in industry - 0.6 percent and construction - 104.1 percent (10.2 percent), services - 1.6 percent. GRP per capita amounted to 33,747 ($3.22) soums, decreasing by 1.7 percent.
