Russian Major Financial Development Institution (VEB.RF) and RT-Engineering holding of Rostec State Corporation signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of financial and guarantee support for the export of Russian services and equipment for implementation of Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) contracts, Trend reports citing the Uzbek media.
The document was signed within the framework of the international ‘INNOPROM. Big Industrial Week in Uzbekistan’ exhibition.
The document provides for the possibility of cooperation with the participation of RT-Engineering in foreign projects in the mining and metallurgical industries, which will allow the RT-Engineering, with financial and guarantee support from VEB.RF, to export a wide range of Russian engineering and construction services, including specialized equipment, to foreign markets.
“Uzbekistan is one of the key regions for Russian exporters. With the support of VEB.RF, a number of large-scale projects are already being implemented to finance the supply of domestic high-tech products to Uzbekistan. At present, VEB.RF is interested in further expanding cooperation on the implementation of projects in Uzbekistan, including projects in the mining industry,” said Daniil Algulyan, Deputy Chairman - Member of the Board of VEB.RF.
The parties agreed that, first of all, the possibility of implementing this initiative will be worked out on projects with the largest subsoil users of Uzbekistan, including within the project for the construction of a new copper processing plant No. 3 (MOF-3), which is being implemented by Almalyk MMC.
“A subsidiary of the RT-Engineering holding, the Giprotsvetmet Design Institute, has been the general designer of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine over the past few years and is well aware of the enterprise's modernization program. Taking this into account, as well as being a supplier of complex solutions, including in the EPC format, RT-Engineering, together with partners, leading Russian companies, is studying with great interest the possibility of expanding cooperation, as well as participating in the modernization program at the Almalyk MMC,” said the chairman of the board of directors of RT-Engineering Mikhail Ulyanov.
