Uzbekistan’s Tashkent Mechanical Plant plans to produce and supply aircraft parts and components to the Ukrainian Antonov company.
“The Tashkent Mechanical Plant (TMZ, former Tashkent Aviation Production Association named after V. Chkalov) plans to launch the production of aviation components for the Ukrainian Antonov company,” the Tashkent Mechanical Plant said.
Director-General of TMZ Zafar Isokov, General Designer of Antonov company Alexander Dveirin and founder of Welfare Investment Alliance Alisher Abdualiev in Tashkent discussed the cooperation issues in the field of aircraft construction.
The sides agreed on a "road map", as well as agreed to create a working group of specialists who will thoroughly study the technological potential of the Tashkent plant and the possibility of organizing the production of aircraft parts upon the order of the Antonov company.
Tashkent Mechanical Plant produced Il-76 transport aircraft and Il-114 passenger aircraft, as well as wings for An-70 aircraft in Uzbekistan.
The plant was renamed the Tashkent Mechanical Plant in January 2014, which was supposed to keep the production of spare parts for Il-114 and Il-76 aircraft.
Presently, TMZ, which is part of the structure of Uzbekistan Railways, produces building structures, auto components, spare parts for agricultural machinery, and railway transport.
