US interested in organizing trade mission to Uzbekistan

The US state of New Mexico is interested in organizing a trade mission in Uzbekistan, Trend reports referring to Uzbek media.

The mentioned issue was discussed during the visit of the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Javlon Vakhabov to the American state of New Mexico. During the visit, special attention was paid to familiarizing representatives of the region's business community with the economic potential of Uzbekistan, identifying points of growth in domestic exports to the US, as well as attracting direct investment in the economy of Uzbekistan.

Also, during a meeting with the Director of the Department of Economic Development of the largest business center of the state - the city of Albuquerque, Cynthia Jaramio and President of the New Mexico State Trade Alliance Randy Trask discussed practical issues of developing trade and economic partnerships with the regions of Uzbekistan.

The parties expressed interest in organizing a trade mission of the state of New Mexico to Uzbekistan. State representatives confirmed their readiness to start working on this issue and to schedule a business forum for the parties in 2022.

In turn, Cynthia Jaramio noted that the most common foods grown by farmers in New Mexico are red and green peppers (chili). According to Jaramio, the state is known as the "world capital of chili" due to the high-quality varieties and pungent taste of this product.

It is reported that Jaramio expressed her readiness to assist in establishing ties between farmers of Uzbekistan and New Mexico to exchange experience, technologies, as well as seeds of high-grade peppers.
