The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, the State Committee for Geology of Uzbekistan and Russian Gazprom energy corporation plan to sign a new agreement on strategic partnership, Trend reports via Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.
On October 27, 2021, Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Alisher Sultanov held a meeting with Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, in St. Petersburg, where they discussed current and future issues of interaction, including joint projects for gas production at fields in Uzbekistan.
In January 2020, the Ministry of Energy reported that over the previous two years, Gazprom specialists studied geological materials for five investment blocks, including Chegara-Tagmansky, Chinabad, Uzunkuinsky, Kossorsky, and Bukharo-Khivinsky. Then the ministry noted that Uzbek side expect from Gazprom to speed up the decision-making on co-exploration at new blocks.
