Uzbekistan has reduced the amount of compensation paid to cover part of the costs of tourism companies and air carriers for organizing charter flights from foreign countries to Uzbekistan, Trend reports via Uzbek Media Outlets.
The amount of compensation which is valid from January 1, 2022, to January 1, 2023 accounts for $10 for each foreign tourist who stays in Uzbekistan for at least five nights. During the winter season (from November 20 to February 20) it amounts to $25.
Compensation was introduced on January 1, 2020 and amounted to $20 for each foreign tourist. It was paid in equal shares at the expense of the state budget and the budget of the Tourism and Sports Support Fund under the Uzbek Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
