BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 27. Uzbekistan has imported 223,800 tons of potatoes from 10 countries in amount of $38.6 million from January through March 2022,Trend reports via Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
The volume of imports of potatoes increased by 70,000 tons compared to the corresponding period last year.
During this period, most of the potatoes were imported from Pakistan in the amount of 172,200 tons, followed by Kazakhstan (20,100 tons), Russia (13,300 tons), Kyrgyzstan (7,500 tons), Iran (5,400 tons).
Uzbekistan has imported 560,000 tons of potatoes in 2021, which is an increase of 109,100 tons compared to 2020. In 2021, Uzbekistan has imported potatoes in the amount of $72.8 million from 13 foreign countries.
