BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 3. The World Bank (WB) will continue implementation of three major projects totaling $1.35 billion in the agriculture sector of Uzbekistan, Trend reports via the Uzbek Ministry of Agriculture.

These projects include:

• Development of the horticulture sector in the Republic of Uzbekistan (Implementation period: 2015-2023)

• Rural Entrepreneurship Development in the Fergana Valley (Implementation period: 2019-2025)

• Modernization of agriculture in the Republic of Uzbekistan (Implementation period: 2020-2026)

Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan held a meeting with a delegation from the World Bank. At the meeting, promising areas of cooperation between Uzbekistan and WB in the agricultural sector were discussed as part of the implementation of the Agricultural Development Strategy 2020-2030.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed measures to improve the efficiency of ongoing projects for the sustainable development of the food sector.
