BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 2. Uzbekistan aims to attract $120 billion worth of investments in the country, with $70 billion of foreign direct investments in the following 5 years, Abdulla Aripov, Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, said at the business forum in Samarkand, Trend reports, with reference to Uzbek media.

According to Aripov, Uzbekistan has created an open national economy and pursues the necessary reforms for its integration into the global economy. The priority tasks in this direction include decreasing the share of the government in the economy, and further integration of the private sector in it.

The PM added that Uzbekistan is working to increase the GDP of the country and to accomplish this task, business procedures and licensing demands are being softened. This is also evident through the double growth of business entities over the past five years.

The Head of the Government concluded by saying that Uzbekistan’s growing stature enabled the country to attract investments and loans from international organizations on more beneficial terms.
