BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 20. Uzbekistan exported 21,600 tons of pomegranates worth $19.8 million in 2022, Trend reports via Uzbek State Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, this figure increased by 2,200 tons, compared to the reporting period in 2021.

During the relevant period, Uzbekistan sent the largest volume of pomegranates to Russia (10,900 tons), followed by Kazakhstan (5,800 tons), Tajikistan (3,000 tons), Kyrgyzstan (1,500 tons), Belarus (120 tons), and South Korea (95 tons).

Furthermore, Uzbekistan exported 1.7 million tons of fruit and vegetables worth $1.1 billion from January through December 2022, which is 18.5 percent more than what was exported in 2021.

Main Uzbekistan’s fruit and vegetables importers were: Kazakhstan ( 641,200 tons), Russia (541,900 tons), Kyrgyzstan (155,600 tons), China (127,200 tons), Pakistan (65,300 tons ), Afghanistan (48,700 tons), Belarus (24,300 tons), Türkiye (19,000 tons), Iran (12,800 tons) and Azerbaijan (10,000 tons).

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover in 2022 amounted to $50.08 billion, increasing by 18.6 percent or $7.8 billion, compared to the figure for 2021.
