Uzbekistan’s coal production down

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 10. Uzbekistan produced 415,000 tons of coal in January 2023, Trend reports via the State Statistic Committee of Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan’s coal production decreased by 13.8 percent, compared to the reporting period in 2022 (481,600 tons).

In 2022, Uzbekistan produced 5.3 million tons of coal, which is 5.9 percent more than from January through December 2021 (5.05 million).

Meanwhile, during the first month of 2023, industrial enterprises of Uzbekistan manufactured products worth 33.6 trillion soums ($2.9 billion) - an increase of 2.1 percent, compared to the figure for January 2022 (32.9 trillion soums or $2.8 billion).

In January 2023, Uzbekistan produced lead batteries (88,300 units), refrigerators (19,800 units), buses (22 units), automobile engines (4,984 units), trucks (138), passenger cars (3,287), as well as 139,600 tons of gasoline, 31,500 tons of cotton yarn, 5.5 million liters of beer, and 116,500 tons of flour from soft wheat and spelled.

During the reporting period, Uzbekistan's enterprises also produced 4.3 million cubic meters of gas, which is a decrease of 7.5 percent, compared to the same period in 2022 (4.6 million cubic meters). Uzbekistan’s manufacturing of gas condensate also declined and amounted to 109,400 tons – a decrease of 9.1 percent.
