BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 27. Uzbekistan and Germany have increased the bilateral trade turnover by more than 3.2 times from January through February 2023, compared to the same period of 2022, from $176.3 million up to $573 million, Trend reports via Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.
Uzbekistan’s imports from Germany amounted to $562 million, which is almost 3.5 times more than, compared to the figure for the first two months of 2022 ($162.6 million).
At the same time, the exports from Uzbekistan to Germany decreased by 19.7 percent and amounted to $11 million over $13.7 million from January through February 2022.
From January through February 2023, the trade turnover of Uzbekistan amounted to $8.9 billion, increasing by 2 percent or $176.4 million, compared to the same period last year ($8.7 billion). Export from Uzbekistan totaled about $3.1 billion, while imports to Uzbekistan - were $5.7 billion.
Meanwhile, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Germany from January through December 2022 amounted to $1.1 billion, increasing by 51.4 percent, compared to the figure for 2021 ($765.7 million).
