BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 17. The UAE's TAQA (Abu Dhabi National Energy Company) is going to implement a project of a combined cycle gas turbine in Uzbekistan, Trend reports via the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan.
The relevant agreement was signed between the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Energy and the TAQA energy company during the 32nd Annual Meeting of the EBRD Board of Governors held in Uzbekistan's Samarkand on May 16-18.
According to the agreement, a combined cycle gas turbine project with a total capacity of up to 1,600 MW worth $1.2 billion will be carried out.
Earlier, Uzbekistan inked an agreement with another energy company from the UAE, Masdar, on the joint development of 2,150 MW and 500 MW solar PV and wind power plant projects worth $2.6 billion.
