Uzbekistan, French commodity broker talk joint sugar production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 26. Sucden, a French-based commodity broker, specializing in sugar trading, is keen to develop cooperation with Uzbekistan in sugar production and cocoa packaging, Trend reports.

The issue was discussed at the meeting between the representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in France and Sucden Director Raphael Verley.

During the discussions, the French delegation was briefed on the ample opportunities Uzbekistan offers to foreign investors. These opportunities include tax exemptions for manufacturing companies investing in Uzbekistan for up to five years, the elimination of customs duties on imported equipment, and joint payment arrangements for transportation expenses.

Particular emphasis was placed on Uzbekistan's strong interest in collaborating with international partners in the fields of sugar production and cocoa packaging. The Uzbek side expressed its readiness to establish mutually beneficial relationships with Sucden in these areas.

Raphael Verley highlighted the immense market potential and economic prospects of Uzbekistan. He shared his personal experiences of visiting the country multiple times and witnessing the impressive transformations taking place.

Sucden expressed its appreciation for Uzbekistan's keen interest in forging cooperation in sugar production and cocoa packaging within the country.

As a result of the fruitful discussions, both parties agreed to organize a visit of a Sucden delegation to Uzbekistan in September. The purpose of this visit will be to engage in further discussions on bilateral cooperation with relevant ministries and government agencies of Uzbekistan.
