TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 20. The Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan has made a list of the country's largest taxpayers for 2022, Trend reports.

Thus, last year, the ten largest taxpayers accounted for 33.1 percent of the revenue part of the state budget, although this indicator was expected to stand at 36.44 percent. At the same time, their contribution decreased year-on-year (39.8 percent of budget revenues in 2022).

Navoi Mining and Metallurgy Combinat (NMMC) continues to lead in terms of tax payments to the budget, contributing 32.9 trillion som ($2.7 billion), or about 16.3 percent. However, this figure decreased compared to 2021, when NMMC's share was 21.4 percent.

Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Combinat (AMMC) took second place with tax payments totaling 17.36 trillion soms ($1.4 billion), or 8.6 percent, although its share was 9.1 percent in the previous year.

Representatives from the Tax Committee explained the decrease in contributions from these companies as a result of reduced profit tax rates and the use of subsoil resources. Because of this, the budget lost around 12.5 trillion soms (over $1 billion).

Uzbekneftegaz ranked third with 2.2 percent of the budget's revenue (444.1 billion soms, or $36.7 million), surpassing its share in 2021 (2 percent).

The overall list looks as follows:

1. NMMC - 16.3 percent (down from 21.4 percent in 2021)
2. AMMC - 8.6 percent (9.1 percent)
3. Uzbekneftegaz - 2.2 percent (2 percent)
4. Uztransgaz - 1.4 percent (2 percent)
5. Hududgazta’minot - 1.2 percent (1.2 percent)
6. UzBAT - 1.1 percent (1.2 percent)
7. UzAuto Motors - 0.7 percent (0.4 percent)
8. Bukhara Oil Refinery - 0.6 percent (0.8 percent)
9. Uz-Kor Gas Chemical - 0.5 percent (0.8 percent)
10. Uzmetkombinat - 0.5 percent (0.8 percent).

The MEF noted that the dependence of the state budget on the top ten largest taxpayers in 2023 will further decrease to 31.2 percent. In comparison to 2018, when 34 percent of the revenues came from the top 20 large companies, the sources of state budget revenues have become more diversified today.
