TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 29. According to information provided by the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan, in the first 7 months of 2023, Uzbekistan purchased electric cars totaling about $220 million, Trend reports.

From January through July 2023, the nation imported 7,391 electric vehicles worth a total of $217 million. When compared to the same time last year, when imports nearly climbed six times (by 6,084 units), these numbers demonstrate an outstanding growth. Only 11 electric vehicles were shipped from the United States, but China delivered 6,898 of them.

Countries that are major suppliers of electric vehicles to Uzbekistan include:

China: 6,898 units;
Hong Kong: 376 units;
Germany: 64 units;
South Korea: 18 units;
UAE: 16 units;
USA: 11 units.

Since they don't contaminate the environment or release dangerous gases into the atmosphere like traditional cars do, electric cars are considered to be more environmentally friendly than those. Even though they occasionally cost more to operate, electric vehicles often have lower operating expenses, and many governments offer incentives and subsidies to their owners.
