TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 30. The Russian Rudgormash company, specializing in production of drilling, mining and processing equipment, plans to localize the production of drilling rigs in Uzbekistan, Trend reports.
The news followed a recent videoconference meeting between General Director of the Rudgormash Management Company LLC Anatoly Chekmenev and the Director of the Agency for Attracting Foreign Investment under the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Murat Mirazev, organized with the support of the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in Uzbekistan.
The company plans to supply Uzbekistan with mining equipment to meet the demand of industrial companies as Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine JSC and Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine JSC.
Furthermore, the company started eyeing the site of future production on the territory of one of the free economic zones of Uzbekistan.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan has prepared the infrastructure to start receiving Russian gas from October 1, 2023.
As per Uzbekistan's Ministry of Energy, a two-year term contract was signed between Uzbekistan's UzGastrade JSC and Russia’s Gazprom Export LLC during the Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 16.
Uzbekistan intends to bring in 9 million cubic meters of natural gas from Russia daily. The ministry reports that the annual gas import is expected to reach nearly 2.8 billion cubic meters. The gas will be transported through the Central Asia-Center gas pipeline system.
