TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 11. Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov and Senior Portfolio Manager of the German KfW Development Bank Vitalis Ritter signed a number of bilateral documents, Trend reports.

Among these, a grant agreement was inked, outlining the support for vocational education in Uzbekistan, which entails a grant allocation of 16 million euros, specifically earmarked for vocational training initiatives.

The majority of this grant, totaling around 14 million euros, will be dedicated to the construction, renovation, and equipping of mono-centers within employment centers across Uzbekistan.

Additionally, 2 million euros will supplement the broader project.

Further grant agreements were secured for the 'Modernization of the system of training and advanced training of medical personnel in the city of Termez' project, involving the establishment of a simulation training center in Uzbekistan’s Termez amounting to 13 million euros.

Additionally, an allocated grant of 500,000 euros will facilitate expert services and the professional development of personnel in support of this initiative.

Overall, the volume of investments in Uzbekistan amounted to 139.1 trillion Uzbek soums ($11.4 billion) in the first six months of 2023.

A significant share of these investments, 59 trillion soums ($4.8 billion), or 42.4 percent, account for foreign investment and loans directed to fixed capital.
