Uzbekistan sees surge in car production volumes in 11M2023

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, December 28. Uzbekistan has produced 355,250 cars from January through November 2023, Trend reports.

As per data by Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee, the recorded number reflects a 25.9 percent, or a 73,000 unit increase, compared to the same period of 2022, where the production stood at 282,200 units.

During these 11 months of 2023, UzAuto Motors, Uzbekistan’s main car dealer, experienced notable growth in the production of the following models:

Cobalt: 104,570 (15.9 percent increase)

Damas: 79,800 (21.9 percent increase)

Tracker: 40,740 (8.3-fold increase)

Nevertheless, there was a decline in the production of Gentra (Lacetti) models, dropping from 80,500 to 74,200 units.

Meanwhile, China delivered 83,800 passenger cars to Uzbekistan from January through November of 2023.

According to data from China's Main Customs Administration, the recorded number represents a sixfold rise over the same period in 2022, when Uzbekistan exported only 10,400 passenger cars.

During the reporting period, the value of these supplies was $1.5 billion.
