TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 13. The Chinese Zhengzhou Hongyi Transportation Logistics Company has launched road freight transportation from Shenzhen to Tashkent, Trend reports.
According to IRU (International Road Transport Union), a truck loaded with electronics left the Chinese city of Shenzhen and reached Tashkent through the territory of Kyryzstan.
With a route length of 6,500 kilometers, the travel time was reduced almost three times—from 20 to 7 days.
The IRU noted that the opening of the new route will increase trade between Shenzhen and Tashkent, as well as further facilitate border procedures and reduce travel time and logistics costs.
Moreover, Uzbek companies are exploring alternative routes for road transportation to the Chinese market. For example, three trucks from Uzbekistan recently transited through Kazakhstan to Foshan, located in southern China.
Earlier, China's Lanzhou Guangtong New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. announced its intention to manufacture electric buses in Uzbekistan's Andijan region.
Moreover, another Chinese company, Luoyang Grasen Power Technology, plans to launch the production of electric vehicle chargers in Uzbekistan. The company's potential investment in this project is estimated at $30 million.
Trade turnover between the countries amounted to $8.3 billion from January through August 2023.
