TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 18. The Uzbek and Japanese Ministries of Justice signed the Cooperation Program for 2024–2026 with the aim of deepening cooperation and achieving certain results, Trend reports.
The event took place during a visit of the Japanese Justice Ministry's delegation, headed by Director of International Cooperation Department Takeshi Matsumoto, to Uzbekistan's Ministry of Justice on January 16.
During the visit, the sides discussed further development of cooperation between the ministries.
The Cooperation Program envisages cooperation in the development of draft regulatory documents, raising legal awareness and legal activity among citizens, protecting human rights and intellectual property, and introducing information and communication technologies in the notarial and civil registry services.
The parties expressed their intention to hold various events promoting experience exchange and strengthening friendly ties in the fields of justice and law.
The Japanese representatives highly appreciated the reforms and progress achieved in Uzbekistan in the areas of human rights protection, notariat, legal service, and public services, as well as the digitalization of justice bodies' activities.
Meanwhile, during the Uzbek-Japanese Business Forum held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and Japan signed 14 documents in the education, IT, alternative energy, and medicine spheres.
Uzbekistan's Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov and Japan's State Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry, Ryosuke Kozuki, were participants in the forum.
