Revenues of Uzbekistan’s National Bank through payment terminals revealed

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 16. The National Bank of Uzbekistan has registered revenues through payment terminals in the amount of 2.8 trillion soums ($221.1 million) from January through February 2024, Trend reports.

According to the data from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, the National Bank's revenues through payment terminals accounted for 5.8 percent of the total revenues of all banks in Uzbekistan during this period.

The total amount of revenues through payment terminals in the country reached 47.5 trillion soums ($3.7 billion) from January through February 2024.

Uzbekistan’s National Bank ranked third among other banks in the country. Uzbekistan’s Aloqa Bank took the leading position with the most revenue volume of 8.3 trillion soums ($655.6 million) during this period, followed by Ipotekabank (3.6 trillion soums, or $284.3 million).

Meanwhile, Fitch Ratings (a global credit rating agency) has upgraded Uzbek National Bank’s viability rating to 'b+' from 'b' and affirmed the long-term foreign- and local-currency issuer default ratings at 'BB-' with stable outlooks.

According to Fitch, the bank's rating is supported by its superior position in the local market, which is underpinned by an extended record of stable asset quality and high capitalization throughout the cycle.
