TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 19. The representative office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan will be opened in Türkiye, Trend reports.
According to the information, this became known during the meeting of the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Davron Vakhobov, with the President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye, Rifat Hisarcıklıoglu.
At the meeting, the sides discussed the development of trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye, as well as the participation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan in the work of the International Chamber of Commerce and the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development.
The sides also considered the organization of mutual business missions and joint events aimed at strengthening business ties and raising the level of investment.
To note, the foreign trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Türkiye amounted to $1.9 billion from January through August 2024. This is 10.5 percent less compared to the same period of 2023, when the trade turnover amounted to $2.1 billion.
Türkiye ranked among the top five leaders in terms of trade turnover among Uzbekistan's largest trading partners for the mentioned period.
