The Western states should not be allowed to misuse the issue of human rights, Iran's top Judicial Advisor for international affairs Mohammad-Javad Larijani said Sunday, IRNA reported.
Larijani, heading a high-ranking delegation, is currently in New York to attend the 65th meeting of the UN General Assembly on human rights.
The meeting is to run from October 26-November 2.
During the meeting, Larijani is to defend Iran's principled stand regarding human rights issue and respond to those who were behind providing a draft resolution against Iran's human rights status.
The draft resolution is to be discussed within coming days at one of the UN committees.
Larijani told IRNA that insistence of certain western states on discussing the anti-Iran resolution was basically an 'illegal and illegitimate act' as there were also other resolutions to be discussed at the UN gathering.
He stressed that drafting the resolution was clearly a 'politicized move' urged by certain western states.
