Soltanieh: IAEA mulls its Iran, Syria reports

Iran's permanent IAEA envoy Ali-Asghar Soltanieh said here that the IAEA held a session on Thursday to provide technical justifications on its two Iran and Syria reports.

Soltanieh told IRNA at the end of the IAEA session in Vienna that the IAEA Chief Yokiyu Amano chaired the session, which was held prior to the IAEA Board's quarterly session.

He stressed the need to make a distinction between the legally binding measures falling within framework or beyond the NPT and the demands being based on the UN Security Council resolution or the additional protocol.

He said it was made clear at the session once again that Iran's enrichment activities fall fully under supervision of the IAEA and there are no technical problems with the enrichment activities, so the information provided by some western media in connection with stopping the enrichment activities are fully baseless.

He noted that deputy director general of the IAEA too has always been stressing Iran's cooperation throughout the inspections.

Soltanieh said the working group too finalized the NAM statement in Iran support on Thursday and it is going to be ratified on Friday and recited by Egypt's envoy at the Board session on the same day.
