Defense Minister Brigadier-General Ahmad Vahidi said on Monday that Iran's policies are peaceful and in line with the restoration of regional peace and stability, ILNA reported.
He made the remarks in response to statements made by his US counterpart Robert Gates saying 'Iran's overall aggressive behavior was source of global concern.'
He reiterated that the US war mongering, bullying and interfering policies have created tension and have made not only the Middle East but also the whole world insecure.
The Islamic Republic of Iran enjoys good and constructive relations with regional states, including the neighboring countries, the minister said, regretting that the US leaders are trying to sow discord and damage the existing amicable ties among the regional states.
Such moves are aimed at preparing the ground for their illegitimate presence in the region and are good pretexts for selling their armaments to regional countries, Vahidi emphasized.
The regional nations are concerned over the war-mongering policies of Washington which have made millions of people in Iraq and Afghanistan victims of its bullying policies, he noted.
The Islamic Republic's defense potentials are at the service of regional peace and tranquility, Vahidi said.
