Iran introduced five new radioactive drugs at a recent presentation. The ceremony was attended by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the FARS news agency reported.
These medicines can be injected, as well as taken orally with food and water.
Previously the drugs were imported, which was too costly an operation.
The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) boasts other achievements in the application of nuclear technologies for diagnosing and treating disease. A large number of research centers are working in the field of nuclear medicine. These centers produce all kinds of radioactive drugs and isotopes that are used in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
