Iranian parliament voted in favor of formation of Ministry of Youth and Sports, IRNA reported.
Parliament members in their Sunday morning session explored details of the plan to merge the Physical Training Organization and National Organization of Youth into a new ministry.
157 representatives voted in favor of the plan while 44 were opponents and 11 abstained.
The Majlis also approved allocation of sources of budget, human resources and equipment to the new ministry and said legal measures should be taken to make necessary reforms in the structures of the two organizations to prepare them for the merge.
