Venezuela's FM heading to visit Iran (UPDATE)
Venezuela 's Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro is heading to Iran on Friday, Fars News Agency reported.
Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that Iran and Venezuela managed to considerably enhance their relations over recent years.
Foreign Minister Salehi made the remark in a meeting with the visiting Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro in Tehran on Friday.
The two ministers reviewed their bilateral ties and discussed important regional and international developments during their meeting.
'It goes without saying that Iran and Venezuela as two important countries of the Middle East and Latin America can supplement each other,' Salehi said.
Commenting on the political developments of North Africa and the Middle East regions, he denounced the West's unjust diplomacy and the Western countries' double-standards vis-à-vis incidents of Libya and Bahrain.
Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro for his part expressed satisfaction over friendly ties between Caracas and Tehran.
Pointing to the current crises and suppression of popular movements in the Middle East, Persian Gulf and North Africa, Foreign Minister Maduro said that the main goal of global arrogance from pursuing such violent diplomacy is taking control of oil sources and wealth of the regional countries.
