Iran Defense Minister: Sanctions against independent states, sign of US desperation
The US sanctions against independent states including Iran and Venezuela are indications of its desperation, Irans' Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said Wednesday, IRNA reported.
Talking to reporters in Bolivia, the minister said the sanctions are 'inexcusable and unreasonable.'
Asked whether sanctions have had any negative impact on the Islamic Republic, Vahidi said that not only they had no negative effects but also the West's sanctions resulted in further progress of the Islamic Republic in various areas.
On Iran's reaction to any US probable military invasion, Vahidi said in that case, Tehran's response would certainly be crushing.
Vahidi arrived in Bolivia Tuesday on a two-day official visit.
