The U.S. and Western countries should meet demands of their people in stead of oppressing them, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman
Ramin Mehmanparast told journalists at the weekly briefing on Tuesday, IRINN reported.
"We advise West's authorities to listen to their people's demands and not to arrest them," Mehmanparast said.
700 protesters, participating in a second week of protests by the Occupy Wall Street movement, were arrested in New-York on Saturday evening for blocking traffic lanes and attempting an unauthorized march across the span.
