Iran and South Korea have signed a cooperation agreement to lay a 1,680-km pipeline for delivering oil from the Caspian Bandar Neka Port to Bandar Jask Port on the Oman Sea, pananews.ir reported.
Iran announced the construction of the pipeline five years ago. Iran plans to use this pipeline to carry out swap operations with the Caspian littoral countries and the Persian Gulf littoral states. The pipeline transmission capacity is supposed to be 1 million barrels per day.
Earlier, Tehran discussed the construction of the pipeline with the Russian and Chinese companies.
Iran needs to attract $3.3-3.7 billion for the pipeline construction.
