Iran has never imported crude from Syira, Mehr News Agency quotes National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Managing Director Ahmad Qalebani as saying.

Earlier, the International Oil Daily reported that an Iranian-owned entity has received 80,000 metric tons of crude shipment from Syria, banned from delivering oil to the European oil refineries, previously its main customers.

The U.S. and Europe Union has imposed embargo on the Syrian crude because of dispersing the demonstrators violently.

According to Reuters, Iran bought 50,000 tons of heavy crude and 30,000 tons of light crude from Syria during the week.
