Iran's strategy for making different phases of its joint South Pars oil and gas field operational has shaken up the world's development models, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reports a top official as saying.
The managing director of the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone, Masood Nasoori, made the comments at a ceremony marking the first anniversary of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's visit to Assaluyeh.
The development model used for South Pars while Iran is dealing with international sanctions is exceptional, added Mr Nasoori.
The U.S and EU have ratcheted up sanctions against Iran. They have embargoed Iran's oil industry and the U.S. is pressuring other countries to stop doing business with Iran.
The West's measures are part of an effort to make Iran answer questions about its nuclear programme which it says is peaceful and civilian in nature while the U.S. and its allies contend it is not.
