Supreme Leader briefed on Iran's army activities

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei met with the Iranian Army Ground Force commanders in Tehran on Sunday, FARS reported.

At the meeting held on the occasion of the National Army Day, the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army Commander Major General Ataollah Salehi briefed the Leader on the latest activities and conditions of the Army.

Also during the meeting, Commander of the Islamic Republic Army's Ground Force Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan presented a report on the latest conditions and combat readiness of Ground Force units in different parts of the country.

The Army commanders also presented a report to the Leader on the latest achievements and innovations of the Army Ground Force during the meeting.

Iran's Armed Forces comprise of the regular army, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Basij (Mobilized forces) and Law Enforcement Police, all under the chief command of the Supreme Leader.

Protecting Iran's security and borders against foreign enemies is a joint mission of the Army and the IRGC, which are both formed of the three ground, naval and air forces.
