Iran supports the proliferation of nuclear weapons and is willing to cooperate with Kazakhstan in this matter, the Deputy Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said during a briefing at the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan.

"Iran supports the position of Kazakhstan and its leader, Nursultan Nazarbayev, on non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and the use of the atom for peaceful purposes," Araghchi said.

According to him, Iran is guided by the slogan "Nuclear energy for all, nuclear weapon for anyone" on the issue of nuclear energy.

The U.S. and other Western countries accuse Iran of developing nuclear weapons under the guise of peaceful nuclear energy program. Tehran denies the charges, saying that its nuclear program is aimed at meeting the country's electricity needs.

A group of international mediators - the "six powers", which includes Russia, Britain, Germany, China, France and the USA, since 2003 together with the IAEA, press Iran for suspend uranium enrichment, which can pose a threat to the nuclear non-proliferation.
There are four sanctions of the Security Council against Iran. In addition, a number of countries and organizations adopted various resolutions calling on Iran to provide full transparency of its nuclear program and prove that it is exclusively peaceful.
