Any provocative move can harm the relations between Iran and Azerbaijan, Islamic Republic Foreign Ministry's spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said this morning at a press conference in Tehran, Press TV reported live.
Mehmanparast was answering the journalist's question about the recent tensions in relations between the two neighboring countries.
"Our relations with Azerbaijan are strategic, it is our priority," Mehmanparast said. "We always look for ways of boosting our relations with the neighboring states".
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman noted that Islamic Republic has common interests with Azerbaijan.
"There should always be awareness, as we need to be careful," Mehmanparast underscored. "Western media releases distorted information that can harm the relations of the regional states".
