Three children were pronounced dead, and about five more were injured as a result of an incident during a children's TV show in Iran's Khorramdarreh city of Zanjan province, Fars reported.
During the broadcast of the "Happy Aunt" children's TV program, the sports complex where the show was taking place could hold only 3 000 people, while over 4 000 people came to see the program, said the Mayor of Khorramdarreh Rahim Nuripour.
As a result, people created a jam near two exits, during which one child died, and six more were injured, according to earlier reports.
One of the injured children died after being treated at the local hospital. All of the three dead children were of about 7 years of age.
Three people responsible for broadcast transmission were arrested in connection with the incident.
It was later revealed that the shooting crew did not get the permission from the Mayor's office to shoot the TV show at the sports complex.
The "Happy Aunt" TV show has been broadcasted in Iran for over five years. Live broadcast is carried out in various cities and provinces of Iran.
