Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi joined other Iranian officials and bodies congratulating the country's intelligence ministry on the apprehension of the terrorists who killed several Iranian nuclear scientists in the last two years, Fars News reported.
"I would like to extend my congratulations to you and all your colleagues on this great achievement gained through a series of complicated intelligence measures," Salehi said in a message sent to Iran's Intelligence Minister Heidar Moslehi on Sunday.
He also appreciated the intelligence ministry's nonstop efforts in defending the country and its achievements, and said "the Iranian nation will never backtrack on the path of materializing and defending its legitimate rights".
The Iranian Intelligence Ministry announced on Thursday that its forces had arrested the terrorists who had assassinated the country's two nuclear scientists and a policeman.
"Security forces have arrested the assassins of nuclear scientists Majid Shahriari and Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan as well as policeman Reza Qashqayee," the intelligence ministry said in a statement.
"The criminals are now under arrest," it said, adding, "The details of the arrest will be made public after lapse of security precaution."
Iran has so far arrested several suspects in relation to the assassination of its scientists.
