Iranian Energy Minister Majid Namjoo has applauded his ministry's achievements in the face of international sanctions imposed against Iran.

Mr. Namjoo spoke at a ceremony inaugurating a new power station in the town of Saveh, the dolat.ir website reports.

Nine task forces have been formed at the Energy Ministry to focus on issues like supporting the private sector and domestic production, water and agriculture and Iran's subsidy Reform Plan, said the minister.

The ministry will have overseen 900 projects that will be finished by the end of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's second term.

Namjoo added that the Markazi Province is doing very well in terms of its electricity infrastructure and supply, citing the just inaugurated 400 kilovolt Saveh station as a project that will help stabilize the electricity network in the face of population and industry expansion.
